Domestic Abuse – Why she stayed

For people who were lucky enough to not have been the victims of physical, emotional or mental abuse, the concept of ‘why I stayed’ seems impossible. They find it very hard to sympathize with those women; they wonder how can someone stay in a relationship where…

MS – the invisible war on emotion

So you have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Like every other serious health diagnosis, the news is really hard to take in, especially if you are feeling relatively good. While some people feel relieved to finally get a name for all their unexplained symptoms and/or years…

Teaching children real values

My daughters' school organised a charity event a few days ago. They had to run as many laps as they could and raise money, this way, for the charity of their choice. It wasn't compulsory for all the school children to attend, although, they all did. Days before the event, I felt like explaining to them what that would be all about. Although we often, in our family, talk about giving and helping others, the idea of raising money for a charity wasn't quite understood. I showed them photos online of charities, other fundraising events, children in need around the world and explained how this kind of helping works. They had questions, of course, which is always good. Then they were sad and then... excited!

Women should be celebrated every day

I was reading some posts this morning in various abuse/domestic violence groups. Desperation, sadness and so much anger filled my heart. Young, beautiful women wasting the best years of their lives putting up with 'men', (or excuses of men), who abuse then in any manner. Women…

Great loss for the music world today  - David Bowie has died at the age of 69. I frankly believe that his death has saddened most of us if not all, each for their own reasons. I am not familiar with his life,  all his achievements,…

The happiness people fake

What could make  people happy? Hmm... let's see... Money, spending money, buying things, owing a house, an expensive car, showing off their 'fancy' career, feeling important, having a 'high' status in their social circle, being very popular, having many friends, wearing expensive clothes, wining and dining…

Emilia and Baymax…

On the 19th of September my youngest daughter, Emilia,  turned four. Four years that went by pretty fast but were full of so many memories that could fill a lifetime. I never liked the 'sex role' mold that children are 'obliged' to follow and despite…

Spice up your bag

Since 2010 my bag was made out of nappies, milk bottles, wipes, nappy cream, pacifiers, little plastic containers filled with all sort of things, little towels, extra baby suits, extra everything really. Around 2012 my bag content situation changed status. Now it was full of biscuits, little…
